Just because I love you guys...

Since it is so darned long (4 pages in Word), I present to you behind the cut:

The circle is set and all participants are brought in except for Jack and Hollie. Corners are called, Lord and Lady invoked (Bast and Morrigan, too) and then a door is opened for us to enter.

HP/HPS: Who enters this circle and what is your intention?
Me/Jack: (name) and to be bound in love with (other name).
HP/HPS: How do you enter this circle?
Me/Jack: In perfect love and perfect trust.
HPS: Know now, before you go further, that since your lives have crossed in this life you have formed ties between each other. With full awareness, know that within this circle you are not only declaring your intent to be handfasted before your friends and family, but you speak that intent also before your Goddess and your God. The promises made today and the ties that are bound here greatly strengthen your union; they will cross the years and lives and future lives of each soul’s growth. Do you still seek to enter this rite?
US: Yes, we seek to enter.

HPS to Maiden: Take them to the guardians to seek their blessings on this union.

Maiden takes US to EAST.

EAST: What seek you of the guardian of the East?
US: We seek your blessings on this union.
EAST: Blessed be this union with the gifts of the East. Communication of the heart, mind, and body. Fresh beginnings with the rising of each Sun. The knowledge of the growth found in the sharing of silences.

EAST wafts air at the couple with a fan.
Maiden leads US to the next quarter: SOUTH.

SOUTH: What seek you of the guardian of the South?
US: We seek your blessings on this union.
SOUTH: Blessed be this union with the gifts of the South. Warmth of the hearth and home, the heat of the heart’s passion, the light created by both to lighten the darkest of times.

SOUTH wafts incense smoke at US.
Maiden leads US to the next quarter: WEST.

WEST: What seek you of the guardian of the West?
US: We seek your blessings on this union.
WEST: Blessed be the union with the gifts of the West. The deep commitment of the lake, the swift excitement of the river, the refreshing cleansing of the rain, the all encompassing passion of the sea.

WEST sprinkles US with water.
Maiden leads US to the last quarter: NORTH.

NORTH: What seek you of the guardian of the North?
US: We seek your blessings on this union.
NORTH: Blessed be this union with the gifts of the North. Firm foundation on which to build, fertility of the fields to enrich your lives, a stable home to which you may always return.

NORTH sprinkles US with salt.
Maiden takes US back to the altar.

HPS: You have received tools from the guardians that will help you build a happy and successful union. Yet that is all they are – tools. Tools that you must wield together in order to create what you seek in this union.

HPS to Hollie: Hold Jack’s hands, palms up, so that you may see the gift they are to you.

(Hollie takes Jack’s upturned hands in her own, looking at them)

HPS: These are the hands, young and strong and vibrant with love, that are holding yours on this day, as he promises to love you all the days of his life.

These are the hands you will place with expectant joy against your stomach, until he too, feels his child stir within your womb.

These are the hands that look so large and clumsy, yet will be so gentle as he holds your baby for the first time.

These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, for a lifetime of happiness.

These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes: tears of sorrow and tears of joy.

These are the hands that will comfort you in illness, and hold you when fear or grief rack your mind.

These are the hands that will tenderly lift your chin and brush your cheek as they raise your face to look into his eyes: eyes that are filled completely with his love and desire for you.

HP to Jack: Please hold Hollie’s hands, palms up where you may see the gift that they are to you.

(Jack takes Hollie’s upturned hands in his own, looking at them)
HP: These are the hands that are smooth, young, and carefree, that are holding yours on this day, as she pledges her love and commitment to you all the days of her life.

These are the hands that will hold each child in tender love, soothing them through illness and hurts, supporting and encouraging them along the way, and knowing when it's time to let go.

These are the hands that will massage tension from your neck and back in the evenings, after you've both had a long hard day.

These are the hands that will hold you tight as you struggle through difficult times. They are the hands that will comfort you when you are sick or console you when you are grieving.

These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, for a lifetime of happiness.

These are the hands that will hold you in joy and excitement and hope.

These are the hands that will give you support as she encourages you to chase down your dreams. Together, everything you wish for can be realized.

HPS: Lovely Goddess, Gracious Lord, bless the hands that you see before you this day. May they always be held by one another. Give them the strength to hold on during the storms of stress and the dark of disillusionment. Keep them tender and gentle as they nurture each other in their love. Help these hands to continue building a relationship founded in your grace, rich in caring, and devoted to reaching for your perfection. May Hollie and Jack see their four hands as healer, protector, shelter, and guide.

HPS: Now, I bid you look into each other’s eyes and join your hands.

HP: (to both) Will you cause each other pain?
US: I may.
HP: Is that your intent?
US: No.
HP: Will you share in each other’s pain and seek to ease it?
US: I will.
HP: And so the binding is made.
Orange cord is draped over our hands.

HPS: (to both) Will you share in each other’s laughter?
US: I will.
HPS: Will both of you look for the brightness in life and the positive in each other?
US: Yes.
HPS: And so the binding is made.
Yellow cord is draped over our hands.

HP: Will you burden each other?
US: I may.
HP: Is that your intent?
US: No.
HP: Will you share the burdens of each so that your spirits may grow in this union?
US: Yes.
HP: And so the binding is made.
Brown cord is draped over our hands.

HPS: Will you share each other’s dreams?
US: I will.
HPS: Will you dream together to create new realities and hopes?
US: Yes.
HPS: And so the binding is made.
Blue cord is draped over our hands.

HP: Will you cause each other anger?
US: I may.
HP: Is that your intent?
US: No.
HP: Will you take the heat of your anger and use it to temper the strength of this union?
US: We will.
HP: And so the binding is made.
Red cord is draped over our hands.

HPS: Will you honor each other?
US: I will.
HPS: Will you seek to never give cause to break that honor?
US: We shall never do so.
HPS: And so the binding is made.
Purple cord is draped over our hands.

HPS: The knots of this binding are not made on this plane. Either of you may drop the cords, for as always, you hold in your own hands the making or breaking of this union. You may now speak your vows to each other.

We exchange vows and tie the cords together, setting them on the altar before the unity candles.

HPS/HP says whatever they would like to say. The lighting of the unity candle follows, any blessings anyone in circle has to give, and the sharing of cakes and ale.

HPS/HP Announces the marriage and the circle is closed. Merriment ensues. *smiles*

Any comments, suggestions would be welcome. I really want to know what y'all think about this:) This is just the first draft at the moment...Do you think it will offend anyone? Or that it will cause problems? I tried to keep it faithful to Jack's and my beliefs, but without overtly stepping on anyone's toes (not that anyone extremely Christian will be there...). What do you think?
